What is this Stuff? MACE & NUTMEG




It is actually 2 spices, nutmeg and mace.  The red lacy aril is mace and the seed is nutmeg.  Mace is my current muse.  It's flavor is less sweet than nutmeg and slightly spicier.  The aril is separated by hand from the seed and dried.  Mace is then ground and used for
seasoning.

Try this spice anywhere you would use nutmeg.  Use mace to flavor chocolate or cherries for ensuing tears of joy.
