Culinary Throwdown-Locavore Addition

You say locavore, I say Localvore

September 18, 2010: Locavore Chef Challenge

8am-10am at the Chicago Green City Market

Kendall College, Le Cordon Bleu, Washburne Culinary Institute area culinary schools will be participating in a cook-off!  Students will be given a mystery basket with Market products and ingredients, 15 minutes to prepare a 2 course menu, and 45 minutes to cook and plate an entire Locavore dish.  The winner will be decided by a panel of celebrity chef judges and will receive a $500 scholarship from Green City Market.

What is the definition of locavore you ask?  Click here and you shall receive.  Allow me to warn you that the term locavore is super cheese, but the concept of creating a term for this movement is pure genius!
