Dumante Verdenoce Contest

and the winner is....well what do you know, it's ME!

Bear with me a moment and allow moi some bragging rights.  Dumante Verdenoce held a scholarship contest at my school, and I totally won! Here is a photo of my winning cocktail:

Spumoni Martini

and here is the recipe:

1 oz Dumante Verdenoce
1 oz vodka
2 oz pistachio gelato 

Start with a chilled martini glass.  
Decorate the inside of the glass with chocolate syrup.
Blend all of the ingredients in a blender.
Garnish with a fancy rose petal and maraschino cherry.
Sip and enjoy the sweet flavor of winning this elegant pistachio liqueur.

*Special thanks to Chef Ryan Bockenfeld, the gelato master of Chicago.  I could not have won this contest without his delectable pistachio gelato. Chef Bockenfeld, is a Baking and Pastry graduate from the Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts Chicago and he also studied under renowned gelato master Luciano Ferrari. You can taste Chef's awesome desserts at Caffe Rom, Caffe Baci, and in the near future, L'Appetito. He is also the honorary pastry chef for the Chicago Art Department.  Thanks Chef Ryan!!!
