Mahleb Spiced Kamut Porridge with fresh dates
1 cup kamut
1 1/2 mahleb, ground
small handful of pistachio nuts, chopped
small handful of fresh cranberries
4 fresh dates, sliced
1/4 cup coconut shreds
1 tsp ghee/clarified butter
unrefined sugar TT
Bring the water to a boil. Add the kamut grains, cover and cook over low heat for 1 1/2 hours.
Add the mahleb, pistachio nuts, cranberries, fresh dates and coconut shreds to the porridge and re-cover. Simmer for an additional 30 minutes. Add the sugar, butter and milk to the pot and serve hot.
