Pit Stop-Green Acres is the place for me!

Wo ho hoa, hold up now.  We hit the squash jackpot today at Green Acres Farms in West Olive, Michigan.  This dandy farmers market stand is a must...as in I must stop and pick up local Michigan produce on my way back to Chicago.   Who could pass up this friendly sign?

The market is surrounded by a moat of stunningly beautiful mums and pumpkins.  I could already smell the apples from the parking lot as I approached the building.  Inhale...exhale...ahhh, the sweet smell of autumn in Michigan. I have never seen such an extensive collection of curcurbita and apple varieties in my life.  Here are photos of some new-to-me squash, you better believe I came home with a car load.

Hey look, cats of the farmer's market!
